The Journey of the Layered Red Bag

The Layered Red Bag began as a sketch exploring a fluid, layered leather structure, colour contrast and a distinctive wrist-strap & closure gesture. What started as a compact sculptural idea soon became one of LINDASIETO’s most recognisable archive signatures.

The first version of the design was developed in red, combining three red tones ( fresh strawberry, warmer light tomato and a deep burgundy) and three textures to give the compact silhouette a stronger graphic presence. Its layered construction gained depth and intensity, turning the bag into an object of colour, contrast and movement, designed to be carried close to the hand.
In the same year, the Layered Red Bag debuted in Vicenza and later was featured by Design Milk, placing the piece within an international design context early in its life.

In 2015, it continued its journey through presentations like the NJAL x Dubai Design District and the Design Trendsetter Finalists’ Exhibition at GDS Düsseldorf and finally the Future of Fashion competition in Paris, where the bag showcased its presence between accessory design, sculptural object and fashion statement.

In 2017, the piece entered a different kind of visibility when it was worn during Paris Fashion Week. Seen in motion, styled and carried, the Layered Red Bag shifted from exhibition object to worn accessory, showing how its sculptural construction could inhibit an aura beyond the studio and display space.

Years later, in 2024, the bag appeared on screen, adding another chapter to its archive story. From the first sketch to exhibitions, fashion week and film, the Layered Red Bag continues to carry the same language of structure, gesture and wearable presence.

Today, the Layered Red Bag returns in two versions as part of the Signature Geometry collection, a beloved archive piece that continues to express an evocative approach to sculptural objects of leather.
