The Evolution of the Horizontal Slashed Clutch
First introduced as part of LINDASIETO’s Cut & Fold collection in 2011, the Horizontal Slashed Clutch is one of the earliest expressions of the studio’s sculptural leather language. Defined by repeated horizontal slashes across a folded leather surface, the design explored negative space as both as a visual pattern of dramatic play of light and shadow, and also as a functional opening to envelope the wearer's hand.
Discover the three members of the Horizontal Slashed design family:

In its original form, the clutch belonged to a wider world of sculptural accessories shaped by slashes, folds and architectural simplicity. The repeated wider and thinner cuts created a dramatic rhythm across the spacious leather surface while interacting directly with the hand and body.
In 2017, the design was revisited in a cleaner, more minimal form. The construction became more distilled, allowing each horizontal slash to appear with more visual weight, while preserving the original gesture and overall silhouette of the piece.

Today, the original, intricate version returns in deep, dark red tones as part of the Signatures collection — a curated selection of defining archive pieces that continue to shape LINDASIETO’s sculptural leather language.
